Project Brief: ILS Acts As Batch Control Integrator
ILS worked as a batch control integrator to provide this customer with the ability to bring together data from numerous different systems and pieces of equipment.
Typically, a customer has a variety of bioreactor vendors and instruments that require integration. Batch Expert+, our real-time web-based SCADA software, is equipment-independent and can incorporate data through OPC or direct serial interfaces. Batch Expert+ includes a built-in OPC UA server to provide data to external systems.
Batch Expert+ Architecture: BE+ can be implemented on a single computer or distributed across a network.
Inductive Automation’s Ignition SCADA
Most often, bioreactor vendors provide proprietary, in-house software platforms. ILS believes the batch and biotechnology R&D marketplace is not sufficiently large to properly fund the development of such marketplace solutions. For this reason, Batch Expert+ is built on top of existing SCADA platforms that have a much wider market. Currently, ILS utilizes Inductive Automation’s Ignition platform.
Batch Trend Charting & Workflow Management
Batch Expert+ is the software platform that allows our R&D and pilot customers to efficiently generate value through supervisory control, alarming, real-time and historical trending, batch work-flow management and reporting. Batch Expert+ includes batch trending, a SQL Server based historian, sequential function charts (SFC) for recipe control, off-line assay data entry, and superior database integration tools.
