A History of Biotechnology Process Development & Support
The founders of ILS have been providing solutions to biotechnology process development and manufacturing support for over 15 years. Originally only software solutions were provided to integrate and manage process development that merged the planning, execution, and reporting of the development process. Through the years, we saw the need to provide a more complete integration approach to customers that includes hardware with bioreactor controllers and remote or distributed control (AFC line of controllers).
Our solutions don’t end when your project is over
ILS provides solutions that span the life of the laboratory, pilot plant or manufacturing facility. Instead of focusing simply on delivering a project based on initial customer needs, our solutions support the customer during day-to-day operation and we adapt the system to meet changing requirements and technology.
Our experience and expertise is with fermentation and cell-culture processes. This starts with a strong understanding of the process control and instrument/control element requirements. Our close working relationships supporting batch customers allows us to continuously improve the process control capabilities and human machine interfaces (HMI) of our hardware controllers.
Custom SCADA development for outstanding process monitoring, control & improved work flow
We extend our solution vertically to SCADA software (Batch Expert+) for data acquisition, batch data historian, remote control, trending, alarming and recipe-based sequential control. The next layer above SCADA is managing the batch process by combining traditional SCADA with the planning, execution, reporting and analysis of batch data. This includes the integration of offline assays. Batch Expert+ combines these features into a single platform that is open, extensible and based upon SQL compliant databases.
